
Funding
Funding support is available for Sections, Groups, Districts and Regions through both the Scottish Development Fund and the CashBack for Communities Small Grants Scheme.
Scottish Development Fund
The Scottish Development Fund exists to provide financial support to projects that will extend, develop and enhance the quality of Scouting provided to young people and adults across Scotland. This can fund:
- The start-up costs of a Section (Start Up Box)
- Training and Assessment of Adults (Small Grant)
- Development Initiatives (Standard Grant)
- Support for additional Needs (SHQ Disability and Addtional Needs Fund)

CashBack for Communities Small Grant Scheme
The CashBack for Communities Small Grant Scheme provides funding of up to £2,000 to support the start-up and activity programmes of local volunteer-led youth groups that are affiliated to the six operating partners.
It is particularly targeted at supporting the development of youth work activity for young people aged 10 to 19 in areas of deprivation.
Two different types of funding are available:
- A start-up grant of up to £1000
- A programme grant of up to £2000 to support particular programmes of activity
