Fordell Firs National Activity Centre

Fordell Firs is the home of Scottish Scout Headquarters and is situated in Fife, just outside Dunfermline.

The Centre is 20 minutes' drive from Edinburgh and is within easy reach of a range of transport connections.

The centre provides full and half day packages with programmes tailored to suit individual requirements. We can cater for a very wide range of groups/events from Scout camps to corporate team building events.

The huge camping ground, which can accommodate up to 600 people, provides an idyllic setting for staying under canvas and there is indoor accommodation available too.

Accommodation

The Garth Morrison Lodge

Opened in 2016, this building is our new brand new accommodation block.

The Henderson Building

The Henderson Building is our largest accommodation building.

• accommodates 40 people in bunk style rooms.

Camping Areas

Fordell Firs comprises of 48 acres of mixed woodland and grassed camping areas, with water points available throughout the site. There is a large toilet and shower block situated centrally within the camping area. Firewood and alter fires are available all year round.

Tents, patrol boxes, mess tents, marquees, tables and benches are all available to hire please contact the warden for details.

Facilities:

Conference Facilities

We can provide facilities for conferences and training courses at Fordell Firs. There is a well-equipped conference room with white boards and pin boards and a full range of audio-visual equipment is also available. We can also arrange catering.

Activity Hall

This large hall can be used for a variety of activities for example, crate climbing, archery, pioneering and team games.

Reception and Shop

The reception is situated at the heart of the centre - please report here when you arrive on site. The site shop is beside the reception and carries a wide selection of camp souvenirs, fun items and confectionary. The shop can be opened at your convenience.

Minibus

For hire when using the facilities. The Ford Transit holds 16 passengers and a driver. You must be over 25 and have a clean licence with a D1 category. This is handy if you require transport from the airport or station. We can also arrange local Scout minibuses if you require more transport.
