Meggernie National Activity Centre

The Meggernie Outdoor Centre is located amongst the magnificent Highland scenery of Meggernie Estate, Glenlyon in Perthshire, and offers a great range of activities along with self-catered indoor accommodation or camping. The centre is approximately two hours from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee and an hour and a half from Perth.

Meggernie can offer a range of adventurous activities or a more relaxing programme, and has a particular focus on environmental learning. The activities on offer can support many Sectional badges and the centre is commonly used for those undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh's Award or Queen's Scout Award training and expeditions. The centre also offers skills courses for Leaders to help support the Programme they provide in Scouting.

Outwith Scouting, the centre also welcomes a whole range of youth, community and charity organisations.

Accommodation and facilities:

Meggernie offers self-catered indoor accommodation for 30 in seven rooms in Kerrowmore Farmhouse.

The building contains a fully equipped kitchen including all cookware, crockery and cutlery for group catering. The Great Hall contains seating and folding tables to accommodate 30, and can also be used for indoor activities, meetings or training courses.

There are also toilet and shower facilities within the building, including specially adapted facilities for those with special needs. The indoor accommodation also includes drying room and payphone.

As well as indoor accommodation, Meggernie also boasts extensive opportunities for camping across the 15 acre grounds of the centre, including naturally-sheltered and self-contained areas. Superb camping facilities include toilets/showers, a laundry, drying and dishwashing rooms. The Foxes Den bivvi, with its own fire place, is a unique turfed five-person shelter and an ideal spot to sleep under the stars, while there are also opportunities for campfires and backwoods cooking.
