Volunteering Award for Western Isles District

Western Isles Scout District was the proud recipient of one of the first ever Western Isles Awards for Volunteering Excellence (WAVE).
The award was given by The Volunteer Centre Western Isles to the Scout District for its high standard of volunteer management and commitment to their volunteers.
The awards, 8 more of which were given to other local organisations, were presented by the Lord Lieutenant for the Western Isles Sandy Matheson who said: “My congratulations to the people and organisations who achieved the awards, they are in fact ‘the salt of the earth’ who, by their selfless service, are both an example and encouragement to us all”. Pictured below with the award is Western Isles District Commissioner Ian Denny.
