We are delighted to announce that Scouts Scotland will be holding their next ScotShape at Edinburgh International Climbing Arena (EICA) on the 20th & 21st February 2016 and registration is now open.
In 2010, an event called Youth Summit 2 brought forward the Youth Manifesto which delivered some real and significant changes to Scouts Scotland and to The Scout Association.
It was also a springboard for the new Scottish Youth Involvement Strategy, which was 'youth approved' at our last ScotShape held in Perth in May 2015.
We will be bringing together 100 young people aged 14-25 (including Explorer Scouts, Scout Network and other adults aged under 25) from across the country to help implement our Youth Involvement Strategy, to support development of a National Youth Advisory Group, and to continue the great work that has been done so far in improving youth involvement in Scotland.
ScotShape will be full of practical hands-on activities to try and test the new youth involvement structures, develop the Youth Approved concept and launch the strategy across the country.
There will also be a range of adventurous activities on offer. It will be a busy weekend filled with fun and unusual activities and sessions to cater for all different interests.
The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena (EICA) is Europe's largest indoor climbing arena and everybody will get the opportunity to experience this climbers' paradise. There will be climbing for all and the chance to attempt the highest aerial assault course in the UK with zip lines, nets, climbing challenges and obstacles.
Accommodation will be in a local hotel and all meals will be provided. The cost has been limited to £15 per person all inclusive and is only payable once a place has been secured.
Explorer Scouts, Scout Network and adult members aged 14-25 are encouraged to register their interest in ScotShape by filling out this Registration Form which only asks for basic details and a short paragraph about why you want to take part.
We encourage you to register quickly as with space for only 100 Explorer Scouts, Scout Network and adults aged 14-25 and such great value (the weekend is valued at £160 per person), we expect to be oversubscribed. If you are successful in getting a place, we will contact you for more details e.g. dietary requirements and to collect the £15 payment.
Please help us to make sure that all Explorer Scouts, Scout Network and adults aged 14-25 know about ScotShape 2016 by sharing this opportunity widely.
