The Edinburgh Military Tattoo has offered the Scottish Scout Council the opportunity to have 35 Scouts and Explorer Scouts as part of each performance of this year’s Edinburgh Tattoo.
Each Scout Leader and Explorer Scout Leader (who is correctly listed on the Membership Services System) was sent a letter last year and an application form for copying and distributing to young people. We now need to make selections but are still short of applications.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Scottish Scouting to be seen by a live audience of 180,000 and a world audience of 110 million people and I urge you to ensure that all young people between 13 & 18 have the opportunity to attend.
Young people have to be available to attend the event in one of two blocks of dates but everyone must be available for a rehearsal in Edinburgh on Tuesday 31 July and Thursday 2 August 2007.
In addition a selection of all those who apply will take place at Scottish Headquarters on Saturday 21 April 2007.
The Tattoo takes place in Edinburgh between Thursday 2 and Saturday 25 August and on each night we will be involved in the Finale of the show. This will involve a march on to the esplanade with flags from each of Scotland’s Areas, photographic images of Scouting being shown on the battlements of the Castle and a short narration of the contribution that Scouting has made to the world since 1907.
Download an application pack now and return to Scottish Headquarters by 31 March 2007
