Scouting is currently active in 216 countries and territories with a global membership of over 28 million. Two thirds of the international membership are in developing countries.

Scouting in Scotland promotes international opportunities including camps and projects, with the aim of strengthening links between The Scout Association in Scotland and other members of The World Organisation of the Scout Movement.

Members of The Scout Association in Scotland are actively involved in a number of International opportunities such as participating in the 21st World Jamboree in 2007.  Scotland has seven Units attending the event.

Many of our members will also get International experiences by participating in other events throughout the world. Other members may undertake exchange visits with Scouts from other countries throughout the world. This allows them the chance to receive hospitality and give hospitality to members from different cultures and backgrounds.

The Scout Association in Scotland also holds an International Camp every two years at Blair Atholl, where Scottish Scouts and Scouts from foreign countries can come together, allowing young people the opportunity to live and work together and build International relationships.
