Fordell Firs is a 48-acre site, surrounded by woodland with areas of sheltered grass. We are approx. 2 miles by road from Dunfermline, 15 miles from Edinburgh, 25 miles from Perth and 45 miles from Glasgow. Inverkeithing rail station is 1 mile away, with regular connections to Edinburgh and other mainline stations to the north.

If you are coming from further afield there are international airports in Edinburgh and Glasgow. There is also a ferry from Zeebrugge in Belgium to Rosyth in Scotland, the ferry terminal is 2 miles from site. The centre 17 seater mini-bus and trailer can pick your group up from any of these arrival points.
Fordell Firs is one of 3 Activity Centres owned by the Scottish Council of the Scout Association, whose headquarters are also located on the site. The centre is accredited with the Adventure Activities Licence Authority (AALA) certificate of approval. The site has camping for up to 1,000 and has indoor accommodation for 54.
We can also cater for full and half-day visits, fun days, school visits, theme camps, badge camps and can tailor individual programmes to suit your groups needs.
