Question: What does it cost to join Scouting?
Answer : Scout Groups charge subscriptions to cover costs such as upkeep of their meeting place and equipment. These are usually paid weekly, monthly or termly. There is also an annual subscription (which may be included in the Group subscription) which is paid to headquarters for the day-to-day running of the Scout Association and includes insurance for all members.
An extra charge is usually required for special events, camps and other outings.
Gift Aid: if you pay tax your Scout Group can use Gift Aid to claim back 28p from every 1 you give in subscriptions or donations. All you need to do is sign a Gift Aid Declaration. all the money will be used to benefit members of the Group.
