Scouts Scotland says it with PRIDE

Scouting is open to all young people and adults regardless of sexuality.

Pride Scotia is one of several fantastic events across the UK that helps us demonstrate our commitment to equality and building a more inclusive society. Not only is this key to the achievement of the Vision Towards 2018, but it’s also a great opportunity to showcase how rewarding it is to be a volunteer in Scouting.

Whatever your sexuality, join us to celebrate our diversity on Saturday 15 June 2013

The Pride Parade assembles from 11.30am outside the Scottish Parliament and moves off up the Royal Mile at noon. After a short pause for half an hour or so outside the City Chambers, where we are addressed by invited guests, the parade will wind its merry way up the Royal Mile and along George IV Bridge, before terminating at Bristo Square. There will then be entertainment in Teviot House that will include the Health and Community Fair.

A group of young people and adults from The Scout Association will be attending the fair to promote Scouting as a modern and inclusive organisation. Please do pop along and say hello!

Pride Scotia is Scotland's national LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) pride festival. Run entirely by volunteers, it takes the form of a pride march and a community based festival to celebrate diversity and personal identity. The traditional pride march and rally provides a platform for politicians, community activists, celebrities and, most importantly, individuals to turn out to march through the city centre to celebrate pride.
