Lochgoilhead Centre Lodges.

Constructed in 1998 the Sixteen Bed lodges are our best accommodation units and are very popular. There are three of these with one modified for wheelchair use.

Each lodge comprises four two-person bedrooms and two four-person bedrooms. They are designed as unisex and accommodation have a wash hand basin in each room. One of the rooms designated for leader use has its own WC and Shower.

The 12-bed lodge has six rooms fitted with two single beds, each room has its own WC & shower. This Lodge is ideal for adult groups.

Visitors are advised to bring lots of bin bags to store wet and dirty clothing. A small sitting area provides seating for five or six.
All lodges have a kettle for making hot drinks.

Each bed is provided with a mattress cover, pillow and pillowcase but you need to bring along a sleeping bag or duvet.  Duvets and covers can be provided upon request and a  charge is made to cover extra handling and laundry.

It is a condition of use that occupiers keep the building clean and tidy and carry out final cleaning chores, as determined by the Warden prior to departure.

Lochgoilhead Centre Dormitory Information.

These units are more basic than the lodges. As with lodges visitors are advised to bring lots of bin bags to store wet dirty clothing.  The dorms are designed as budget sleeping accommodation. They have no integral sitting or recreation space.  Visitors are allocated seating and dining space within the main dining hall which doubles as a recreation area.
We have four Dormitory units of two design types.

First type has a 2 bed leader room with own private WC & shower with two other rooms of ten. All beds are bunk beds. The second type has 4 bed leader room, two 8 bedrooms and one 4 bedroom. Again, all beds are bunk beds.

Each bed is provided with a mattress cover, pillow and pillowcase but you need to bring along a duvet or sleeping bag. Duvets and covers can be hired upon request and a small charge is made to cover extra handling and laundry. Please let us know well in advance if you would like to hire duvets.

Each unit has wc and washing facilities.  Showers are accessed from outside the building.
Small parties may occasionally have to share a unit although in separate rooms

It is a condition of use that occupiers keep the building clean and tidy and carry out final cleaning chores, as determined by the Warden prior to departure.

Education or other Non Scout Association Users are strongly advised to pre visit and view these units prior to confirming a booking

Dining Arrangements.

The dining hall is an open plan communal facility that can seat up to 140 people and has full wheel chair access.
Outwith mealtime's visitors are welcome to use the space for recreation or teaching.  Vending machines are available within the dining hall.
There is no self catering available. Our catering arrangements are currently being evaluated with the possibility that catering will be contracted a to national provider in order to provide best service.
The dining hall doubles up as recreation space and is prone to abuse if children are left unsupervised.  It is also designed for visitors coming in of activities or from the field hence needs regular cleaning.  Our aim is to keep costs low as possible and to do this we make it a condition of use that visitors wipe down tables after each meal, sweep and mop the floor, and other minor duties as directed by the Warden.
