Scouting in Scotland is an integral part of the Scout Association in the United Kingdom, sharing the same aims, methods, uniform and training scheme as Scouts in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Scottish Council has responsibility for the day to day governance of Scouting activity in Scotland including the operation of the headquarters offices and three camping and outdoor activity centres.

Scotland differs from the rest of the UK in its legal and political systems and the skills and expertise of the small professional staff at the headquarters reflect these differences.

Scouting is celebrating its 100th birthday in 2007 and in Scotland we are already working to make sure we are ready for the next 100 years.  Our 7 On Appeal is aiming to raise 2 million to develop Scouting across the country to give more young people the chance to experience the adventure, fun and personal development being a member of the Scouts gives.  You can download a leaflet about the appeal in our library section.
