The Henderson Building  

The Henderson accommodates 36 people in bunk style rooms. These are divided up into 5 rooms of 4 beds, 2 rooms of 6 beds, and 2 rooms of 2 beds. Fordell supplies all sheets and pillows, however duvets can be requested at an additional cost.

There is a large dining area, situated beside the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen has 2 large fan ovens, 2 six burner, double oven gas cookers, a large industrial grill, fridge freezer, and a food warmer (bainmarie). A full range of cutlery, plates, utensils and pots are supplied and there is adequate storage for all your groceries.

 It also has full central heating, toilets and showers are situated on both floors.

The Richmond Chalet

The Richmond Chalet is a two story Swiss design building situated adjacent to the front lawn at the heart of Fordell Firs. The chalet sleeps 18 people, which are split into three rooms. Bedroom 1 sleeps 8 people, bedroom 2 sleeps 6 people, and bedroom 3 sleeps 4 people. Fordell supplies all sheets and pillows, however duvets can be requested at an additional cost.

The ground adjacent to the chalet is ideal for camping on if you have larger numbers.

The kitchen contains a 4-burner gas cooker and a fridge freezer. All cutlery, plates, utensils, and pots are provided. There is also a toilet, and shower in the building.

Directly opposite the Richmond we have reception, the shop and the activities assembly point. In the same building we also have the craft room which is open for use all day.

Camping Areas

Fordell Firs comprises of 48 acres of mixed woodland and grassed camping areas, with water points available throughout the site. There is a large toilet and shower block situated centrally within the camping area. Firewood and alter fires are available all year round.

Tents, patrol boxes, mess tents, marquees, tables and benches are all available to hire please contact the warden for details.

Conference Facilities

Facilities for conferences and training courses are available at Fordell Firs.

The conference room is well equipped with white boards and pin boards. A full range of audio-visual equipment is also available.

Activity Hall

The hall can be exclusively booked however it is available for use during your stay. The following activities can be carried out in the hall, such as crate climbing, archery, pioneering and team games. More information can be obtained from reception.

Reception and Shop

The reception is situated at the heart of the centre please report here when you arrive on site. The friendly staff are always around to help you out and if you need assistance in moving your heavy gear on to your camping site this is the place to ask.

The site shop carries a wide selection of camp souvenirs, fun items and ice creams. 

The shop can be opened at your convenience.
