25th Birthday
As part of the Challenges for the 25th Beaver Birthday, I tasked the Beavers to find out how Beavers have changed over the last 25 years.
I realise that many of our present leaders may be fairly new in post so decided to track down an old factsheet from Scoutbase which explained the history of Beavers up till the last programme review in 2002.
So far, I've been unable to find it in the site, but have arranged for a version of it to appear in the Beavers section of the Scottish Website for your interest.
Global Ideas
Are you looking for ideas of games from other countries to complement your programme?
Try this website www.estcomp.ro which has lots to choose from - some are not in English so you may need to be selective and some definitely need risk assessments!
Regional Visits
Dates for the final Regional Visits to meet up with ADC (Beavers) have now been finalised. They are:
- South East: Friday 6th May at South East Region Headquarters, Valleyfield Street, Edinburgh
- Forth: Saturday 7th May at 1st Stirling Scout Group Headquarters
- East: Sunday 8th May at Scottish Headquarters, Fordell Firs
- Highlands & Islands: Sunday 15th May at Inverness District Scout Headquarters
- North East: Sunday 29th May at Westhill Scout Group Headquarters
- I'm looking forward to meeting up with some new faces.
Rosyth District Beavers

Rosyth District held their annual 'Anne Weatherstone Beaver Challenge Cup' at Inverkeithing in March with about 60 beavers from 7 colonies taking part.
The bases included stilt walking, beat the buzzer challenge and hockey dribble. Everyone had great fun and received a badge from local Scout Shop, Akela's Den and the Cup was eventually won by the 48th Donibristle colony.
Thanks to Gary Dewar (ADC Beaver Scouts) for organising this event.
