One Day International Event Training Course
22nd January 2012 at Fordell Firs
Have you got an overseas expedition coming up, or would you like to learn the skills that you'll need to plan one?
SHQ are running a training course for those who are considering running an expedition overseas.
The course will cover all aspects of planning an international expedition and is suitable for small first time events to multi centre complex travel events.
If you are thinking of running an event then please register to attend by emailing myself or SHQ. The cost for the day will be £5.
Health Check
As reported earlier, Scouts Scotland now has a dedicated Travel Medical Advisor.
Please consider contacting our International Medical Health adviser, Margaret Briggs for any overseas travel next year for your peace of mind.
Margaret is a Member of the Faculty of Travel Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow so is well qualified to assist in these matters.
She can be contact by email on mbriggs485@aol.com.
International Events Staged Activity Badge
The new badge is proving very popular with those who are aware of it. The requirements are available on the International Programme Support homepage and the badges from SHQ at 50p each.
The purpose of the staged activity badges is to encourage interaction between UK scouts and scouts and communities from other countries.
Scottish Scouts – Explorer Belt to Estonia 2013
Jenny Steven (Highlands &Islands Regional Commissioner and SHQ Adviser for Young Leaders) and I have carried out a recognisance and Estonia looks ideally suited for an excellent Explorer Belt.
Jenny will be putting information out soon, however if you wish to register your interest in this event please let SHQ or myself know.
RoverWay – Finland 2012
Registration for this event closes soon. The number of applications is less than hoped from the UK, so you should have no problem being accepted. See the Roverway website for further details.
