The main purpose of the Satellite Camp at Blair Atholl is to enable Scottish 'Scouts' to get a taste of International Scouting at the Blair Atholl Jamborette.

The Satellite Camp Programme is aimed primarily at members of the Scout Section and Patrols or Troops are welcome. Explorer Scout Units, parties of Leaders, Scout Network, Scout Fellowship or Guides are also welcome. It is regretted that Beavers or Cub Scouts cannot be accepted, unless part of family groups although it should be noted that the weekend programme is not designed to cater for them.

Dates: From noon on Friday 23 July to noon on Monday 26 July 2010. This includes the middle weekend of the Jamborette and Visitors' Day.

Cost: The cost of attending will be £18 per person, payable with booking, and only returnable if the booking is unsuccessful. Cheques should be made payable to 'The Scout Association'.

Facilities: Toilet facilities and water points are provided. Campers must be self-sufficient in tentage, catering (with the exception of Sunday evening meal), First Aid, etc. Please note that space is not available for caravans, camper wagons etc. (Reservations with Blair Atholl Caravan Site can be made).

Programme: There is a programme of activities on offer designed to assist campers to enjoy the international atmosphere of the Jamborette. There will be an opportunity to participate in the Country Fair on Saturday and the Sunday programme will include a Scouts' Own, international games and an evening BBQ in the sub-camps, all with the participants of the main camp. Leaders will be expected to assist with the various planned activities.

Jamborette: The Jamborette Village has a well-stocked camp shop selling sweets, fruit and soft drinks; a Post
Facilities Office; a Scout Shop; and a Bank.

Applications: Complete the application form and return it, signed, complete with payment. Places will be allocated on a 'First come, first served' basis. Previous camps have been oversubscribed so an early application is recommended. Applications must be countersigned by your District Commissioner.

Joining instructions will be sent in June to successful applicants. Please do not inform Scouts they are going to Satellite Camp until you have had written confirmation from SHQ that you have secured places.
