Due to Lapwing Lodge's commitment to provide activities to all Sections, we are pleased to announce the 2010 Explorer Scout event. Despite the increased frequency and number of Young Leader events across Scotland, there is no other course quite like this one!

The event will take place on the weekend of 12th - 14th February 2010 at Lapwing Lodge Outdoor Centre. Throughout the course of the weekend, we will be covering Modules B through to J.

All participants will be required to have completed a minimum of Module A - Prepare for Take Off! Due to time constraints over the weekend, we are unable to offer Module K - First Aid Master Class.

The cost of the weekend will be £35 per head for all applications received after the 11th December 2009. All applications (with a £5 deposit/place) received before the 11th are entiteld to and Early Bird Discount - making the price only £32 per head.

Any increase or decrease in the booked numbers after the Early Bird cut-off date will be subject to either pay the full price per any extra place or face the loss of the deposit. A maximum cap has been placed on numbers for this year, due to continued high demand and as such we can offer 60 places to Young Leaders wishing to attend. Provision will be given on a first come, first served basis.

The camp fee includes all accommodation costs, catering costs and materials for the weekend. The cost for the course has increased from last year primarily due to the increase in wholesale food and heating costs. We hope that you'll take this opportunity to maximise the reduced imapct on the Unit's pocket by taking up the Early Bird offer.

Registration for the weekend will take place between 7pm and 9pm on the Friday night. The weekend will finish at 3.30p, on the Sunday afternoon.

The weekend will be staffed and run by the volunteers at Lapwing Lodge. It is expected that Young Leaders will be mature and responsible for themselves, and on this basis leaders are not required to stay for the weekend, however if you feel that you have a particular skill that may be of use, or you wish to partake in the weekend please contact:
