Adult Information Posters

Available from the Information Centre in packs of 10 for �2.00 (postage), these are designed to be most effective in highlighting Beaver Scouting to a wider audience. Aimed at ‘non-scouting’ domains such as schools, libraries, shops or waiting rooms they support and complement an integrated adult recruitment process which includes the ‘six step approach’. They are easily customisable to include a local contact.

Beaver Scout Starter Packs

Available in packs of 5 from the Information Centre for �1.50 (postage) these contain everything required for starting a new Beaver Colony.

Anyone starting a new Colony is also eligible for a �50 start-up grant from UKHQ.

If it goes bang ...
Beavers are renowned for making noise, but what if it were possible to have two of the noisiest things on the planet in your hall - without the noise. (Bliss probably !!)

Here are two ideas to try based on the simple science theme. Both are really easy, will thrill your Beavers and do so without going bang (well almost) ...

BALLOON ROCKET
BP (Bang Potential) High
You will need:-
long length of string or thread
Balloons
drinking straws
sticky tape

Thread the string through the straw and stretch it across the room. Stick two pieces of sticky tape over the straw (making sure the straw will still move along the string). Blow up the balloon without tying the neck of it and attach it to the straw with sticky tape. Let it go and the balloon rocket will shoot across the room. Why not set up more and have races.

MAKE YOUR OWN VOLCANO
FP (Fizz Potential) High
You will need:-
vinegar
bicarbonate of soda
red food colouring
small plastic bottle
large dish / tray
sand or flour

Half fill your plastic bottle with bicarbonate of soda and put in middle of dish. Pile up the sand or flour around it, in the shape of a volcano, with the mouth of the bottle sticking out the top, Mix the red food colouring in the vinegar, to make the lava and then pour into the bottle. Stand back! and watch you volcano erupt.
